GSTV Chooses BroadcaSTAR Finalists, Online Voting Begins
Back Stage recently ran a casting notice for Gas Station TV’s Wanna Be A BroadcaSTAR online talent competition. “We are blown away with the extremely talented, diverse group of individuals competing in this contest,” said David Leider, CEO of GSTV (www.gstv.com).
After reviewing all of the online video entries, GSTV’s panel of judges announced the top 10 finalists, who will compete for the chance to become a lifestyle segment host on GSTV, along with a $2,500 cash prize and possible segment-taping travel opportunities. The finalists’ full names have not yet been revealed, only their online handles and locations:
- JayBee, New York, N.Y.
- Bradley, Los Angeles, Calif.
- Fallon, Detroit, Mich.
- Jon, Fairfield, Conn.
- Kam, Burbank, Calif.
- Monica, Los Angeles, Calif.
- Laura, N. Hollywood, Calif.
- Sal, N. Hollywood, Calif.
- Kyra, Columbus, Ohio.
- Amy, Hoboken, N.J.
“The production value of the videos entered and the quality of submissions for BroadcaSTAR were excellent,” said contest judge Sheldon Cohn, executive vice president and director of integrated production for the Doner Company. “The high volume and talent level of the contestants was surprising and made the decision to narrow down the finalists challenging.”
Everyone can now view the finalists’ videos and vote for their favorites at www.beabroadcaSTAR.com. The voting portion of the contest lasts from May 12-June 30, 2008. Voters and contestants are automatically entered into a free $10,000 sweepstakes. Voting is free, but voters must first fill out a registration form on the site.
