You Could 'Be the One'

Center Theatre Group and the tour producers of A Chorus Line, running at the Ahmanson Theatre May 22-July 6, are holding a "Be the One" online talent competition. Singers, dancers, and actors can submit an online audition profile, including video clips, photos, and a blog about why they deserve to "be the one." Online voters will cast ballots for their favorites, and the top 17 vote-getters from the greater L.A. area will be invited to a live callback June 7 at Citadel Outlets. Four female and four male finalists will win Chorus Line tickets and advance to the next level to compete against finalists from other cities on the show's tour. The national grand-prize winner will receive a trip to New York City, tickets to Broadway shows, backstage tours, show merchandise, meet-and-greets, and more. One local finalist will also be crowned "L.A.'s Singular Sensation" and receive a prize of $500. Judges will include Kay Cole from A Chorus Line's original Broadway production and Grammy Award-winning singer Melissa Manchester.
