Michele's West Coast Awakening

Upright_michele_2_2

Upright Cabaret, the sensational company run by young impresarios Chris Isaacson and Shane Scheel, has an exciting show slated August 15-17 at Mark’s Restaurant in West Hollywood. Lea Michele, a 2007 Drama Desk nominee for her role in Broadway’s Spring Awakening, makes her West Coast debut in this Upright showcase.

Performing with her as a special guest is Tony winner John Lloyd Young (Frankie Valli in Jersey Boys).

Michele will also be seen as Eponine in the Hollywood Bowl's August 8-9 concert staging of Les Miserables, starring Brian Stokes Mitchell. Among her other Broadway credits are Ragtime, Les Miserables, and the Fiddler on the Roof revival. Her solo vehicle Once Upon a Dream has played to sellout crowds at Feinstein’s in Manhattan. The Upright presentation will be directed by Richard Jay-Alexander, with music direction by Ben Toth. Chris and Shane invariably put up a knockout show, and this one promises to be one of their best. It's bound to be a sellout, so early reservations are advised.  Tickets are available online, using the keyword uprightcabaret.--  Les Spindle
