NYMF Announces Auditions for "The Next Broadway Sensation"
The New York Musical Theatre Festival announced today that its first round of open auditions to discover 'The Next Broadway Sensation' will take place September 12 at the Roy Arias Theatre Center (300 West 43rd Street, 5th Floor) from 10am-7pm.
"The Next Broadway Sensation" competition, now in its third year, seeks new Broadway talent through American Idol-style judging and audience votes. The winner earns the title of Broadway Idol 2008 and a performs a solo concert. Last year, the Broadway Idol winner George Psomas eventually landed a role on South Pacific.
Auditioners must be 18 or over with no Broadway credits. Contestants should prepare 16 bars of music. Bring a headshot, a resume, and sheet music for the accompanist.
Callbacks will be held on September 13 from 6-10pm.
