Monty Python: "We Know Where You Live..."
Michael Palin, according to a news story in AFP (Agence France-Presse), takes a stand against all the so called rip-off artists who are stealing Monty Python videos and posting them on YouTube.
He and his team state categorically the new site:
"We know where you live and we could come after you in ways too horrible to tell."
Apparently, he and the surviving members of the legendary group, Monty Python, have finally figured out a way to stop the madness. However, instead of coming after you, a qualification of sorts
"...being the
extraordinarily nice chaps we are", the brilliant Brits have
figured out a more fruitful way to handle YouTube pirates. They have
launched their own Monty Python Channel on YouTube.
The videos from the show are free and of great quality. However, the members of the group ask that you "soften their pain from being ripped off all these years" by clicking on the videos and buying both the movies and TV shows.
Apparently, their heartfelt plea
(minus the "we know where you live" part) has worked. The site has
only been up 5 days and it already has over 150, 000 hits!
If you can't beat 'em (by hunting them down and inflicting horrible pain) join 'em and make obscene amounts of money!
