Little White Lie: A Very Big Treat

Hey, you need to check out this web series, Little White Lie ? It's super funny in a Gossip Girl  meets Making the Band  way.    It was created three months ago by the incredibly talented team of Chris Allen (Duder Reese), Nick Lang, Matt Lang and Eric Kahn Gale.   It already has a fairly large fan base and has 11 really solid episodes in the can.   Lie stars Elona Finlay as Sami Reese and Chris Allen as Duder Reese, the teen sister-brother music duo who want to be rock-stars.

The premise is that the sibling band-mates Sami and Duder steal their music in the hopes of becoming famous.   In the first episode we see how cheesy they start out. They kind of remind me of Juliette and Derek Hough on Dancing with the Stars. You like them but sometimes the very blonde look alikes overdose on cheese-wiz factor.

The Reeses start out by singing a duet to an audience of one. The song: "Don't Play a Riff on My Heart Strings" is, dare I say it, Saturday Night Live style funny! Their perfect harmony to this over-the top song is hysterical. Then we find out that they call themselves "Reese's Pieces".  Can it get any worse?

Apparently the high school that they attend requires that you be in a cool band to be considered popular.   Off they run, late, to compete in "The Battle of the Bands" only to be confronted by mean, Tanya Freemont played deliciously by Lauren Lopez. Tanya sings for a group called "Tanya Freemont and the Hot Girls". They are absolutely terrible with a hilarious, oh-my-God it's so bad its funny rendition of "Boy Toy". But the guys in the audience see nothing but hotness. Tanya tortures Sami who incidentally is determined to take the hot bitch down.

Having to follow the "Hot Girls" rousing performance (or should I say 'rising' for all you teen boys), Sami and Duder get ready to rock when they are suddenly asked to sign an originality agreement before singing.   They must agree to have written the tunes or they can't play. Duder does the right thing by declining because he didn't write the tune; this only incites Tanya's ribbing. But Sami will be a rock-star no matter what.   

Thus, the first white lie is told and a hell of a web series is born. The production quality is fantastic in this little series as well as the writing. But the acting and direction is spot-on. This really could and should be on TV.   Every webisode is addictive. Tanya is a favorite! She is so super naughty.

See this so you can say you knew them when because it will probably be up for a People's Choice Award in a couple of years.
