Beverly Hills Film Festival is Seeking Submissions

Beverly_Hills The Beverly Hills Film Festival is still accepting submissions in the short film category.  Your shorts should be 50 minutes or less in length and they'll accept films of all genres and formats. This festival does require a press kit and upon acceptance you should have the film in final format ready to submit if you had a sent a work in progress.

Here is a list of all the materials that you will need to have ready to submit to the BHFF:

All materials will need to be into the festival office no later than February 15th excluding the master print which can be received up until March 15th:

A. The Festival will require additional press kits with photos and stills (color/black and whites), clip reels, film trailers, posters and postcards.

B. Biographies and headshots of the Director and Writer of your film.

C. Synopsis of Film - this should only be a short paragraph - please see website for past length examples.

D. 5 VHS or DVD copies for any press requests. (They are very strict about teh deadline so pay attention.)

E. Final format of your film (DV Cam or Film)

Good luck!  Wouldn't you love to premiere your film in the 90210 and then go for espresso or wine on Rodeo to celebrate?  A bit pretentious maybe, but what's a little pretense in the name of art?

Go to the Beverly Hills Film Festival site for more info.

I remember the old days when you had to do exhaustive research in order to find film festivals to submit to. Even when you could find some opportunities, there was little chance that your film would even be seen. With the internet, not only is it easy to find plenty of festivals but many of them feature all the entries on their website. I am constantly amazed at the wealth of resources for aspiring film makers. One that I found is Film Connection. www.film-connection.com They offer one on one mentoring and their course is available all over the US and Canada.
