Celebrity Guests 'Sleepwalk' with Mike Birbiglia

Some exciting celebrity guests are joining comedian Mike Birbiglia after performances of his one-man show Sleepwalk With Me this month.

Janeane Garofolo, Jonathan Ames, David Cross, and Andy Borowitz will continue the "Awkward 10 Minutes With Mike" talkback series every Wednesday in January. After each Wednesday night performance, Birbiglia chats with a celebrity as they share a story that has never been told in public.

"It's a fun add-on to the show," Birbiglia said, "because thematically, Sleepwalk With Me is about telling people the things we're not supposed to talk about. It opens the whole thing up so it's not just about my stories but about everyone's stories. The only danger, of course, is that people will leave and say, 'My favorite part was when he talked to other people at the end!' "

Comedian/actress/radio host Janeane Garofolo joins Birbiglia Jan. 7; novelist and TV writer Jonathan Ames stops by Jan. 14; actor/comedian David Cross is scheduled to chat Jan. 21; and writer Andy Borowitz will close out the month Jan. 28. Past guests include Nathan Lane and Ira Glass (host of This American Life).

Sleepwalk With Me runs through March 2009 at the Bleecker Street Theater, 45 Bleecker St., NYC.
