'Ragtime' Revival Headed for Broadway
The revival of Ragtime which played the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. from April 18 to May 17 is evidently headed for Broadway. We just received Equity casting notices for a Broadway/Production contract. The notice states rehearsal and performance dates are to be announced. Equity principal auditions will be held June 22, 24 and 25 while Equity chorus calls are June 26 for dancers and June 23 for singers. The revival is directed and choreographed by Marcia Milgrom Dodge and Laura Stancyzk is the casting director. Here's a rave review from the Washington Post. The original production opened in 1998 and ran for 834 performances. It won Tonys for Best Book and Score, but lost Best Musical to The Lion King. (Photo: Joan Marcus)
