Tony Award nominee Marin Ireland has joined the Broadway cast of After Miss Julie as Christine. This will be the American premiere of Patrick Marber's three-character play, which is a new take on August Strindberg's famous play about class and relationships. The Roundabout Theatre Company production also stars Sienna Miller as Miss Julie and Jonny Lee Miller as John. The limited engagement runs Sept. 18-Dec. 6 at the American Airlines Theatre in NYC.
Laura Osnes and Stark Sands have been cast in Bonnie & Clyde, the new musical by Frank Wildhorn and Don Black. Osnes and Sands will star as Depression-era American criminals Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow, respectively. In addition, Mare Winningham will play Bonnie's mother and Melissa van der Schyff will play Clyde's sister-in-law. The world premiere La Jolla Playhouse production runs Nov. 10-Dec. 20 in the Mandell Weiss Theatre in La Jolla, CA.
Diana DeGarmo will join the cast of The Toxic Avenger this summer. Beginning August 14, the American Idol Season 3 finalist will star as Sarah, "the sexy, blind librarian," in the Off-Broadway musical at New World Stages. She will succeed Celina Carvajal, who currently plays the role.
Emily Blunt will star in The Adjustment Bureau, a sci-fi love story starring Matt Damon as a congressman who meets a beautiful ballet dancer, only to discover strange circumstances keep them apart. Blunt plays the dancer. The film is based on a short story by Philip K. Dick.
Steven Weber is in negotiations to star in the new midseason ABC series Happy Town, a mystery set in a small town rattled by the return of a serial kidnapper. Weber would play John Haplin, a powerful man who is obsessive and filled with agony over the disappearance of his daughter, kidnapped years ago by the same kidnapper.
Casting has been announced for the upcoming production of Camelot. The cast includes Jeff McCarthy as Arthur, Joneal Joplin as Merlyn, Jenny Powers as Guenevere, Raymond Fournie as Sir Dinadan, Lewis Cleale as Lancelot, Scott Brown as Dap Justin, Fred Applegate as Pellinore, Allen E. Read as Mordred, and Christian Probst as Tom of Warwick. The musical runs July 27 through Aug. 2 at the St. Louis Muny.
