Voice-Over Acting 101

Voiceover Ever thought of becoming a voice-over actor?  Listen up...

On Wednesday, July 29 at 7 P.M., Push Creative is presenting a career seminar exploring the art of voice-over acting for film, television, advertising and promotions, entitled “Secrets of Voice-Over Success.”  The event is at The Times Center in New York City.

The discussion will reveal the secrets of creating a career in voice-over acting through the journeys of successful celebrity voice-over actors. Alan Kalter, the voice of the Late Show with David Letterman, will host the panel discussion, which will also feature:

  • Jim Dale, the narrator of the Harry Potter audio series
  • Richard Thomas, the voice of Mercedes-Benz
  • Joe Cipriano, the voice of the Emmy Awards and Deal or No Deal
  • Valerie Smaldone, the host of Broadway on Broadway
  • Rodd Houston, the voice of Verizon Wireless and the NFL

Baker "This all-star panel brings together many of the most familiar and prolific talents in the field, and provides a rare opportunity to learn how to break in from people who've done it successfully," said Joan Baker, author of the new book, Secrets of Voice-Over Success.  Baker, who is also an acclaimed voice-over actor, will sign copies of the book after the panel.

The book and the event was inspired by Ms. Baker's father, who lost the gift of communication to Alzheimer's Disease. In response, 100% of Ms. Baker's book royalties will be donated to the Alzheimer's Association.

After the seminar, five lucky audience members will be chosen to audition in front of the pros.

Tickets are available in advance for $49.95 via TicketWeb.com.  They will be sold for $60 at the door.
