TV Writers Get $70M in Age Discrimination Settlement
After ten years, the suit against seven talent agencies and seventeen networks made by TV writers, alleging multiple counts of unintentional and intentional age discrimination, reached a $70 million settlement. None of the more than 165 writers will receive a fixed amount of the money, of which two-thirds will come from insurance providers. Rather, each will be able to apply for grants and loans from a newly created fund called Fund for the Future.
