0219 Pace logo
In a series titled “Discover New Talent: 2010 MFA Playwriting Showcase,” The Actors Studio Drama School at Pace University will present staged readings of eight full-length works-in-progress, one musical and seven plays, written by their third year playwrights.

With such titles as “Topping From Below,” “Mama’s Law,” “Blood Molotov,” “Needles: A Christmas Play,” and “The First Kiss,” the works address topics including a father’s death, medical ethics, a drag queen, mental illness, love, and a family caught up in a literal and emotional hurricane. Audience members will be asked to fill out questionnaires after each performance.

The readings will be held on the weekends of Feb. 27 and 28 and Mar. 6 and 7, 1 pm and 4 pm each day, at the black box theatre Studio W509, located at Park Row and Spruce Street on Pace’s downtown Manhattan campus. They are free, but reservations are recommended as space is limited.

For reservations and more information, visit www.pace.edu/asdsevents or call (212) 714-4643.
