Monk Quiche (part one)
I'm heading to a monastery, yup a monastery. Yeah a monastery, the kind with monks and robes and services, a monastery. If you asked me why I'm sure I could not give you an answer... And how do I know this, because EVERYONE has asked me why I'm going with the exception of a few people who have themselves gone to monasteries in the past... And my answer has been, "I don't really know." But I'm going, for a weekend... Sounds like a party doesn't it?
What's there to do at a monastery? I've really no clue. What am I going to do at this monastery? Again, no clue. Where is it? In the mountains some where. Am I religious? No, maybe spiritual, maybe. Why am I going? Didn't you ask me this already... Again, I don't really know.
I know I've always wanted to go to a monastery. I know my father went on retreats when I was younger, and I think they were at monasteries. I know I have a few friends that have gone to monasteries... I know I've tried to schedule a visit in the past and was not successful either time I tried because of one reason or another... And I know this time a friend helped get me in to this particular monastery...
I will bring my laptop, but don't know if I'll turn it on. I'll bring my ipod, but don't know if I'll hear a tune. I'll bring my cameras, but don't know if I'll snap a shot. I'll bring my hiking stuff, but don't know if I'll ever leave a building. I really don't know. It's sort of exciting not having any idea of what to expect. My meals and bed will be covered by my tuition... Other than that... I've no clue. Don't even know if I'll stay longer than an hour, but who knows, maybe I'll stay the whole weekend or stay stay... I mean how cool would that be?
Okay, not very, but you could all say... "I knew him when..." And based on a little research I did, there may be another reason to say, "I knew him when..." Note to self: Sometimes I do too much research, this I got when finding out about one of the towns I'm going to, just happened to mention the highway I'll be traveling on...
"... known...as the home of one of the most dangerous roads in the US... and as of 2004 has been the location of numerous serious and fatal automobile accidents... The road is only single lane each direction for most of this segment's length, and the volumes of traffic that use it are far beyond what it was engineered to handle. The chief reason for accidents according to CHP data is passing the double yellow line in unsafe conditions. Overuse... is chiefly on Friday evenings, Saturdays and Sundays... " - Wikipedia

Picture was taken driving between two auditions the other day. I was going to use it for another blog I've yet to write, but... It works here.
Monks are for the most part socially inept, sexual outcasts who run from the secular world with all of its social and heterosexual demands.
They try to convince us (and themselves) that they're monks due to their faith.
This spiritual Catholic has had his fair share of dealings with Catholic clergy.
They are dysfunctional people.
If they're so spiritual why don't they climb out of their cave and do something for their fellow man?
Sorry, this post strikes a chord with me. I taught in a Catholic school, went to Catholic school, was raised "devout Catholic."
I have no use for the Catholic clergy by and large--with the exception of a few.
They are small, narrow-minded, fearful, judgmental, imperialists. Not to mention screwed up sexually--usually self-loathing repressed queens and self-loathing dykes.
If not, they're usually pederasts.
I'm glad you made it out of there without begin gang raped.

I hope nobody interprets my comments to be gay bashing. No. What I mean is these clergy are gay haters. They hate themselves for being gay and run from their sexuality, seeking solace in a cult that welcomes them.

Ouch. The anger is overwhelming there. I'm sure there are some people feel as strongly about all actors too...

LOL, yes the anger is there.
Those "I survived Catholic school" shirts sell for a reason! ahahahh
I still have strong Catholic faith. My favorite Saints, who always seem to answer me are St. Therese of Lisiuex (The Little Flower) and St. Anthony of Padua.
I still hold onto my faith in God, Jesus, Mary.
But the clergy? I'm sorry my first grade BITCH teacher nun is dead now. I'd like to SUE HER MISERABLE ASS for the physical abuse. Sister Margaret Hanley of Hasbrouck Heights NJ: Eat Shit!
I'm sorry Brother James from St. Anthony High in Jersey City is dead now. I would LOVE to have beaten the shit out of that drunken loser.
Sorry too that Sister Alan has cancer. If she were healthy I'd punch her right in her miserable face.
Happy Monday! ahahahha
