Full House (overhaul)

Img_1458
I am in the middle of a full house overhaul. Painting. Wowsers. Who knew the hard part was doing all the taping. So far, the painting is about two-thirds done. I still have the bedroom and the kitchen to tackle. Additionally, the bathroom needs another coat....

However, when my daughter gets her toys picked up...it actually looks like a great little house! My sewing machine is even out and ready for the next project. I've sketched a dress and a skirt I'd like to finish.

God Bless My Mother. Her project these two weeks has been: help the girl create a spectacular home life. And she's had ME make all the artistic decisions! She's just there with a "Yeap" or "Nope" when I need one. The two of us, a friend of mine, and my daughter painted like crazy yesterday. We had an absolute blast! And my living room looks like something out of Under the Tuscan Sun now...colorful and warm and cozy with plenty of places to sit!!!

I step into my home now and never want to leave. I now have a nest where I can create new works. It's important for an artist to feel happy in their environment. It's difficult to create or feel restored in a place that doesn't reflect who you are. So, even though my place is still small I have made the space work for me in a more effective way. Plus...I can watch movies in bed now, which is nice!

Next on the list...office work and actor mailings and updating the ol' resume, etc. I chose a new headshot from my last photo shoot that I didn't expect to choose, but I rather like it and I want to try something different than what I usually go with.

Oh--and the colors I chose to blend for my living room: Fresco Cream & Camel.
