Hello My Fellow Bloggers!
As I was driving down the 101 from an audition where I was playing daddy's perfect little 17-year-old preppy girl, I was changing into my clothes for my second appointment in Hollywood. You are now a tomboy and you are tough and don't take no for an answer!... Or something like that...
I repeated this in my head as I buried my pink sweater and heels in the backseat. I pulled up to a traffic light and tore through my oversized purse for my sides, and reached in the back floorboard and stapled a different headshot to my resume.
Fifteen minutes and counting until I would be late to my second audition, trying to get into character and change as fast as I could. I pulled up to building on the corner of Fountain and Highland, tousled my hair a little, and finally remembered to take a deep breath and said, "I gotta blog about my crazy life."
I moved from Boulder, Colorado to LA about four years ago finishing out my last two years at USC. I graduated with a theatre degree and I have been actively auditioning for two years. I've been incredibly lucky with the films and commercials I have worked on. If you talk to my friends, they would have to say I'm very tenacious, a go getter, and passionate about what I do. In my free time I like to paint, scrapbook, design jewelry, write poetry, go to the beach, and dance. I guess you could say I am the quintessential pisces.
Some brief tid bits about me you may be interested in knowing
- My last name is French and complicated. It's pronounced Toe-kee-nee. Sounds easy, but doesn't look it!
- I just worked on an ABC family channel commercial for Samsung. Watch for it around 6 pm this month!
- I currently intern at a casting office and always looking out for my friend who are actors. Its a very valuable learning experience!
- I have an orange kitten named Buckwheat and I constantly upload photos of him to facebook. He may be lucky enough to have his own page one day.
- I just launched my website and I'd love to have some feedback on it. HEATHER'S WEBSITE
Jumping from random job to odd job all week, with auditions, and shoots sprinkled in is all very fun because I love how unpredictable and exciting it is. I can't express how much I love acting and I plan on pursuing it forever. I'm looking forwrad to sharing my stories because I know I will have so many to come!

I want to get where you are so bad! I'm slowly pursuing acting but with a 9-5 that's barely keeping me afloat doesn't give me much flexibility :(
You must rely on good 'ol residuals huh? Continue to "break a leg!"

Hi Heather,
Your description of transitioning from audition to audition, changing outfits and headshots, reminded me of Sydney Bristow in Alias - anyone remember the montage they showed in the beginning where she was wearing all the different wigs and outfits? :)
Nice to "meet you" and look forward to seeing more of your writing here. Your webshot looks good - since you asked for feedback, I think you could jazz the front page up a bit (brighter colors, maybe a different font) - that's JMO. I like your "News" section a lot though.
