I'm a busy girl! For the first time in a few weeks, I have a real day off today!! In Portland and Seattle we had such busy performance schedules, there wasn't time any full days off and adjusting to each new city definitely takes a little time. One of the coolest things about going to each new city is trying to get out and be a bit of a tourist and see things unique to that city.
Last week was Seattle, and despite our full performance schedule, I tried my best to get out and see a few things! On one free morning, I teamed up with my new friend and cast mate Delanna and headed out to explore!!
Who remembers
Real World: Seattle? I remember watching it when I was in junior high and always seeing the crazy looking spacey building in the background. Or, who watches
Grey Anatomy?!? When zooming in on the hospital there are always shots of the
Space Needle. It's super famous!! Delanna and I had heard you could go up in it to the top, so one morning we headed out to do just that!
Sixteen bucks sent me and Delanna up to the top of the Space Needle in a clear glass elevator. It was a pretty fun ride, but quick. To be honest, the ride may not have been worth sixteen dollars, but spending too much money on kind of ridiculous things is part of what being a tourist for the day is all about! The Space Needle is pretty tiny, so there's really not much up there. There's a dining room that spins that I imagine would be pretty cool to visit at night, but neither Delanna and I were hungry so instead doled out our money on overpriced lattes and spent an hour or so taking in the views of Seattle from way up high.
The Space Needle was cool and I was glad to finally see up close the building that has been in so many pictures and on so many TV shows, but I would still say the most exciting part of the day was heading to
The Paramount to do
the show.
I love my job.
In this picture, I'm taking in the views and trying to check out some of the boys of Seattle. I thought Seattle would be a great place to find a new boyfriend with all the coffee shops and big music scene, but they all sort of looked the same from up here!
Maybe you would have a better time at a similar structure in your next city - the CN Tower! I wish I could see the show! I greatly enjoy your blogs, and hope you enjoy your stay in Toronto!
