7b8302ff3e636c4693b67fa699a4e1d67_4 If you're a fan of Alice Sebold’s The Lovely Bones, than you may be happy to learn that Dreamworks has adapted the best-selling novel into a feature film.

Peter Jackson (Lord of the Rings) will direct the emotional story of Susie Salmon (Saoirse Ronan), a 14-year-old girl from suburban Pennsylvania who is brutally murdered by her neighbor. From Heaven, Susie watches her friends and family deal with their grief over her death, and attempts to get someone to find her lost body.

The award-winning cast includes Rachel Weisz (Oscar winner), Ryan Gosling (Oscar nominated), Susan Sarandon (Oscar winner), and Stanley Tucci (Golden Globe winner).

The production will be shooting in PA and NY. Earlier this month, Back Stage posted a casting notice seeking extras for the film’s PA location.
