'Fro Wins in Split Decision

In our Jan. 10 issue, actor-comedian Willie Macc asked readers if he should keep or lose his Afro.Beforewilliemacc
Dear Back Stage Readers:

Thank you so much for sharing your opinion in the "Should the 'Fro Stay or Go?" poll (www.myspace.com/kingonthemic). Thanks to Back Stage, I got a larger cross section of opinions. Since the poll was nearly equally split -- 51 percent to keep it and 49 percent to cut it -- I decided to compromise and have the barber cut off about 3 inches.

It's funny: Folks were saying I should cut it because it would limit my access to roles. Since the voting began, though, I have earned parts in three movies, including Chicago Pulaski Jones, the directorial debut for Cedric the Entertainer.
