Of Mice and...the Met

Brown_rat_3 The AP reports today that "on-stage villains aren't the only vermin at the Metropolitan Opera this season." The theatre at New York's Lincoln Center has been cited for sanitary violations by the city's Department of Health and Mental Hygiene.

The department found "evidence of mice or live mice present in facility's food and/or nonfood areas" during an inspection in April, according to reports on the department's Web site. But the Met was not issued a notice of violation from the department, because the inspection still found fewer overall violations than the average for New York City restaurants.

Read the full story, including a few other juicy health code violations at the opera house, here.
