Indies in Seattle
The Seattle True Independent Film Festival, which showcases and furthers the work of the best indie filmmakers, is accepting submissions for its 10-day summer celebration of off-beat films in Seattle, Wash. As an underground festival, the event has gained traction with filmmakers, audiences, and press for quality independent work without big stars or studio resources.
The schedule includes screenings, nightly parties, a music and comedy festival, and press and promotion opportunities for exhibiting filmmakers. Filmmakers also compete to win career-boosting opportunities; the Grand Jury Prize winner gets to take a meeting with an acquisitions executive for Hollywood Video's 1,900 rental stores.
The fest is slated June 1 to 10, 2009. Get your features and shorts in by Jan. 15; submissions are taken online.
