Savannah Film Fest Seeks Flicks
The Savannah Film Festival, hosted by the Savannah College of Art and Design, is seeking submissions. The fest includes a range of cinematic works from both award-winning professionals and emerging student filmmakers, regularly screening award-winning films before their national release dates.
Panel discussions and presentations by visiting artists give movie buffs the chance to interact with some big-time filmmakers. Past honored guests have included Peter O'Toole, Kathleen Turner, Sydney Pollack, Alan Cumming, Roger Ebert, Jane Fonda, John Waters, Danny Glover, Alec Baldwin, Natasha Richardson, and Ellen Burstyn.
Even cooler, the festival regularly screens films at the Trustees Theater, a 1946 cinema house, and the Lucas Theatre, a former Vaudeville theatre.
Entries must be postmarked by June 15. The festival is slated Oct. 31 to Nov. 7, 2009, in Savannah, Georgia. Just check out the website for submission information.

I recently moved away from Savannah GA this past summer, and I will tell you one of the worst things I will miss will be the Savannah Film Festival. The films, the people, the atmosphere and energy is like no other event in the world.
