You're Welcome, Broadway (or, Will Ferrell Makes Money)

Playbill reports that Will Ferrell's You're Welcome America. A Final Night with George W Bush, which features the former Saturday Night Live star in one last send-up of the 43rd President of the United States, has recouped its original investment of $2.09 million.

The limited engagement at the Cort Theatre on Broadway opened Feb. 5, and made headlines for blockbuster ticket sales in its opening week. The show is scheduled to run through March 15. HBO will air a live telecast of You're Welcome America March 14.

Playbill also notes that some of the other shows that have recouped their investments this season include All My Sons, The Seagull, and Speed-the-Plow.
