Be Part of the MoMA "Line of People" Project
The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) needs people of all ages and backgrounds "to represent a real slice of New York" for a giant MoMA banner that will stretch along the museum's West Lot fence on 53rd St. for the rest of the year.
A professional MoMA photographer will be taking full-length photographs of visitors, staff members, friends, and family. A selection of these pictures will then be assembled into a graphic rendering of the MoMA ticketing line (which often extends alongside the 53rd St. fence). The shoot will take place Wed.-Fri., June 17-19, 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Participants are needed for any and all days.
To participate, stop by the MoMA lobby near the film desk (entrance at 11 W. 53rd St.) June 17, 18, or 19. Come as you are, dressed as you like (the more colorful the better).
While the museum cannot guarantee that your photograph will be used on the final banner, all participants in the three-day shoot will be able to download their professionally shot, full-length, high-resolution photograph from the MoMA Flickr site in the week following the photo shoot. Participants will also receive a free admission pass to the museum.
