WGAW to Rep CBS Web Writers

Verrone Internet writers at CBS studios in L.A. voted unanimously to be represented by the WGA, West, the Guild announced today. "This is good news for new media writers," WGAW President Patric M. Verrone said in a statement. "Congratulations and welcome to the Writers Guild. As more and more news, sports, and promotional content is distributed on the Internet, it is essential that its writers win respect for their work and all the benefits of a WGA contract."

According the Guild, the 15 writers affected will now enter contract negotions with CBS. “We hope to reach a fair deal with CBS as soon as possible,” WGAW representative Lynda Whittaker said.
