Puppet Love

Last year, I was asked by my friend Lara Everly to cameo in a little music video she was making with her co-writer, co-director, and co-star Jonathan Kidder about people having sex with puppets. Not sure where the idea came from, but basically she wanted to shoot a montage of different people around the world and their puppet lovers. Thanks to my dark coloring and cryptic genes, I was selected to be the ambassador of the Hawaiian islands and was hooked up with a ukulele, a lei, and a gecko puppet. The resulting video, "Pink Sweat," is above for your viewing pleasure.

Of course, in our world of meta marketing, Lara wasn't content with just releasing the video, but wanted to also do some viral marketing with a "behind-the-scenes" video of the lead "actor"--puppet Francis Fluffenstein--acting out.

You can catch his tantrum here.

And just because I happened to have a flipcam handy, I also documented what was taking place behind-the-scenes on the day I was shooting. This is me interviewing Lara as she prepares to shoot the token Frenchman (played by the always wonderful Henry Dittman) and his puppet at the Eiffel Tower (ie, a greenscreen set up in her apartment.) You can tell we're a class act production by the cats running around in the background.
