'Phantom' Sequel’s Move to Broadway Delayed
The opening of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s new musical “Love Never Dies” has been postponed until spring 2011. The Broadway production is a sequel to Webbers “Phantom of the Opera” and has been delayed due to “post-operative problems” Webber is experiencing from his treatment of prostate cancer, according to a statement given to the New York Times. According to the Times, “Love Never Dies” has received mixed reviews, which fueled speculation that the opening would be delayed to make adjustments for the show’s Broadway release.
