Tune in Saturday for a "Fantastick" Mets Game
The cast of The Fantasticks (all 11 of them!) are scheduled to perform the National Anthem at the Mets home game tomorrow, Saturday, April 10 to commemorate the show's 50th anniversary.
The Fantasticks -- a Romeo and Juliet-esque tale that produced several hit songs -- is the longest-running musical in the world. Its original run opened in May 1960 and closed in 2002 after 17,162 performances. The show was revived in 2006 and continues to perform at the Snapple Theater in NYC.
The current cast includes Broadway vets Edward Watts, MacIntyre Dixon, Tom Flagg, Gene Jones (that guy), and Scott Willis, as well as Matt Leisy, Michael Nostrand, Evy Ortiz, Steve Routman, Erik Altemus, and Kimberly Whalen.
The game will be broadcast on Fox 5 in New York, with the anthem scheduled for 12:57 p.m.
