Clooney Talks MPTF Care Facility
In an interview discussing his efforts to save the Motion Picture and Television Fund's long-term-care center, actor George Clooney said he is open to a one-time fundraiser but will continue to push for the establishment of a permanent revenue stream for the embattled facility. Speaking with a reporter at TheWrap.com, Clooney revealed that he proposed to Screen Actors Guild president Ken Howard that the guild lift its cap on dues for high-earning members and use the extra income to help keep open the long-term-care center in Woodland Hills, Calif., where an estimated 55 residents still live.
