Alice Eve and Michael Fassbender Cast in 'X-Men: First Class'

Alice eve and michael fassbender as x-men

Alice Eve is in negotiations to star as Emma Frost and Michael Fassbender has officially been cast as the young Magneto in X-Men: First Class, THR's "Heat Vision" blog reports. The film is a reboot of the Marvel Comics film franchise, examining the early days of Professor Xavier and the X-Men before the events of the previous Fox movie trilogy.

Heat Vision describes Eve's (She's Out of My League) role as Emma Frost, a.k.a. the "White Queen":

In comics lore, Frost was originally a villain called the White Queen who eventually became a member of X-Men, then a teacher at Xavier’s School of Gifted Students. She has telepathic powers and as the White Queen wore scantily clad costumes.

Fassbender (Inglourious Basterds) had also been pursued to potentially play a villain in the upcoming reboot of Spider-Man; but the actor confirmed his involvement in X-Men late last week, after weeks of negotiations with the studios.

Eve and Fassbender join James McAvoy as young Charles Xavier and Benjamin Walker (star of Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson, Off-Broadway at the Public Theater in NYC) as Henry "Hank" McCoy, a.k.a. The Beast in X-Men: First Class. The film is directed by Matthew Vaughn (Kick-Ass).

Production is scheduled to begin in London in August. Casting the remaining roles in the superhero flick is apparently in limbo, however, after casting director Mindy Marin left the project last week. She has been replaced by Joseph Middleton, according to THR.
