According to The Hollywood Reporter, Jude Law, Ray Winstone, Christopher Lee, Frances de la Tour and Richard Griffiths have been cast in Martin Scorsese's first live-action 3D adventure, an adaptation of Brian Selznick's 2007 novel The Invention of Hugo Cabret. The newly-cast actors will be joining a star-studded cast that also includes Oscar winner Ben Kingsley, Golden Globe winner Sasha Baron Cohen, Chloe Moretz, Helen McCrory, and Asa Butterfield.
Cabret follows a young (orphan) boy who lives a secret life in the walls of a Paris train station, where he gets caught up in a magical, mysterious adventure that threatens to put all of his secrets in jeopardy, according to The Wrap. Butterfield (The Boy in the Stripped Pajamas) will play the orphan, but it is unclear who will play the "strange girl" or the "restrained toy shop manager" he meets during his adventure.
