Comcast promises $20 million for minority entrepreneurs
Comcast Corp. promised to create and contribute at least $20 million to a venture capital fund for minority entrepreneurs in new media and technology. The promise comes at a time when many are concerned by Comcast’s proposed takeover of NBC Universal, which some say would result in a loss of diversity both in programming and the executives. Several companies and groups, including Bloomberg and Writers Guild of America, are opposed to the merger.
