Nottage Receives Steinberg Award
Lynn Nottage, who won a Pulitzer Prize in 2009 for her play "Ruined," has been named the recipient of the 2010 Steinberg Distinguished Playwright Award. The award comes with a prize of $200,000 and will be presented at the third annual Mimi Awards on Nov. 8 in New York. The Steinberg Distinguished Playwright Award honors American playwrights whose work has made a significant contribution to American theater. It is funded by the Harold and Mimi Steinberg Charitable Trust and is the richest prize of its kind. An advisory committee of theater professionals oversees the nomination and selection process.
