SAG, AFTRA Approve Negotiation Package

On the second day of its national board meeting via bicoastal videoconference, the joint national board of SAG and AFTRA approved the package of proposals for their upcoming TV-theatrical negotiations with employers. The current contracts expire June 30, while joint bargaining with the companies is scheduled to begin Sept. 27 at AMPTP headquarters in Sherman Oaks. On Saturday, the SAG board voted to approve an expansion of the TV-theatrical joint bargaining agreement with AFTRA to include negotiations for a successor to the current industrial and educational contract.
