Tony Curtis Dies at 85

0930 tony curtis Tony Curtis, the famous actor who was Oscar-nominated for his performance in 1958's "The Defiant Ones," died Wednesday night at his Henderson, Nev., home. He was 85. Curtis is perhaps best remembered for his turn alongside Jack Lemon and Marilyn Monroe in Billy Wilder's 1959 film "Some Like it Hot." His daughter, Jamie Lee Curtis, said in a statement: "My father leaves behind a legacy of great performances in movies and in his paintings and assemblages. He leaves behind children and their families who loved him and respected him and a wife and in-laws who were devoted to him. He also leaves behind fans all over the world. He will be greatly missed."

There is a Wonderful Photo of Jack and Tony circulating around the country of them in their later years posing in Lingerie. It's a spoof of their Eternal Classic Comedy Film "Some Like it Hot". Well I'd love to get a copy of that Print because it is true to their persona, friendship and sense of humor that comes alive in that photo. I will always think of one of the last interviews Tony gave, that may have been on "In the Actors Studio" or another show. His revealing story of his hardships, his troubled life was alarming, raw, tragic, warm and very, very down to earth. It left me feeling as though, I wished I could be there for him as he seemed such an approachable, vulnerable spirit. My heart broke to hear of how much he had suffered, rejection and more from all those that meant so much to him feeling proud of his ability to overcome all that he'd been through, emerging complete again, wiser and stronger than ever before. I guess that is what life is all about for the rest of us. So, if I could speak to Mr. Curits, I'd say this.."Thank you Bernie Shwartz for becoming more than just a human being, but a True, Shining example for all of us to follow."

Much Love and Peace to you and your wonderful Family, Eternally, Sand
