'Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close' Casting Boys in Brooklyn?

A casting notice was spotted on the streets of Park Slope in Brooklyn, NY yesterday for Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close, the feature film adaptation of Jonathan Safran Foer 2005 novel about a nine-year-old boy's life in the aftermath of Sept. 11, 2011.

The sign (pictured above) states: "Seeking 9-13 year-old Caucasian boys for the feature film EXTREMELY LOUD AND INCREDIBLY CLOSE." Tom Hanks and Sandra Bullock star as the boy's parents in the film, directed by Stephen Daldry (Billy Elliot, The Hours) from a screenplay written by Eric Roth (Munich, Forrest Gump). The film is schedule to be released in 2012.

Although this notice was posted in Brooklyn, casting directors are conducting a nationwide search for child actors.
