Online Film Critics' Society Noms
Could one-time frontrunner "The King's Speech" be slipping? And could "Black Swan" get any hotter? The Online Film Critics' Society announced their nominations this morning, and there were some welcome additions and notable exceptions. Though they nominated six films for Best Picture, "The King's Speech" and other contenders like "The Fighter" and "The Kids Are All Right" were notably absent. Still, the films that were nommed are all deserving, it's just looking to be a tough race.
With omissions there comes some pleasant surprises--Edgar Ramírez was recognizedin the Best Actor category for "Carlos" over heavy hitters like Robert Duvall in "Get Low" and Kim Hye-ja of “Mother” bested the likes of Lesley Manville and Michelle Williams in the Best Actress category. Also, it looks like John Hawkes of "Winter's Bone" and Mila Kunis of "Black Swan" are becoming more and more certain in the race, as both snagged supporting noms. Full list of nominees after the jump; winners will be announced Monday, January 3, 2011.
