'Syriana' Writer Pens NBC Pilot

Stephen Gaghan, Oscar-winning writer for 'Traffic," is returning to his television roots with an NBC pilot, "S.I.L.A." The new drama will involve law enforcement, crime, and politics in modern-day Los Angeles. According to Deadline, Gaghan penned the script, is an executive producer, and will direct the pilot.  Before moving to films, the 'Syriana' writer began his career working on television shows, including "The Practice" and "NYPD Blue."
