Second City's Joyce Sloane Dies at 80

Joyce Sloane, a longtime producer at The Second City Theater, died Thursday at the age of 80, The Chicago Tribune reports. She was an active presence throughout most of the theater's 50-year existence. Sloane was influential in the careers of comedic heavyweights such as Bill Murray, Gilda Radner, and Chris Farley. Sloane reportedly died in bed, as she was getting ready to watch television.
