Spider-Man Strikes Again! Another Actor Injured

T.V. Actor T.V. Carpio has left the Broadway musical "Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark" due to an injury and will not return for two weeks. A spokesperson for the show confirmed that the injury took place during the March 16 performance. An unnamed source told the New York Times that Carpio, who plays the villain Arachne, was injured during the second-act battle between her character and Spider-Man. Carpio is the fifth "Spider-Man" actor to suffer a workplace injury since the show began rehearsals last fall. Her predecessor as Arachne, Natalie Mendoza, left the production after suffering a concussion during the first preview performance in December. Carpio has already been replaced by her understudy, America Olivo.

Also on Tuesday, the Times reported that Christopher Tierney, the actor who was injured after falling more than 20 feet into the orchestra pit during a December preview, will undergo DNA testing "to measure the speed of his recovery" as he prepares to return to the show.
