NYTVF Launches New Pitch Program

Denis Leary The New York Television Festival, now in its seventh year, announced the launch of a new program called NYTVF Pitch. One outstanding participant will be guaranteed a deal with one of the festival’s inaugural partners, including Sundance Channel, MSN, and SevenOne International, reported The Wrap.

ABC Family, Hallmark Channel, and United Talent Agency also signed on as new partners for 2011, along with previously announced partners MTV, Fox, IFC, and A&E.

Denis Leary and Jim Serpico’s production company Apostle will collaborate with FX to offer a development deal to the most prominent candidate.

The week-long festival, which takes place Sept. 19-24, screens pilots for industry representatives and the general public, and also hosts panels with television personalities.  Speakers from last year’s event include “Arrested Development” creator Mitch Hurwitz and “Lost” star Michael Emerson.
