"Closer" Role Might Influence L.A. Mayoral Race

Egarcetti SAG member and aspiring actor, Eric Garcetti, has a pretty decent day job as the president of Los Angeles’ city council. But after a speaking role on “The Closer” as the mayor of Los Angeles, Garcetti might be able to take a stab at the real deal.

According to The New York Times, if Garcetti does decide to join the mayoral race, his name recognition from programs such as “The Closer” could help him win. While his office is saying that his recent gig has nothing to do with mayoral ambitions, it is not a far stretch to think that he might follow in the footsteps of other actors like Ronald Reagan or Arnold Shcwarzenegger. His city council term ends in 2013, the same year as the election.
