Koch Theater Seeks New Tenant
Top dance troupes are eyeing the empty stage at Lincoln Center’s Koch Theater. According to The New York Times, major dance companies are already expressing interest in performing in the newly renovated space, but officials are looking for a long-term commitment to share the space with New York City Ballet.
On Tuesday, City Opera, which caused quite a stir by announcing at the Guggenheim Museum that it would leave the Koch Theater due to financial problems, presented plans for an upcoming season. Back Stage reported that both the American Guild of Musical Artist and Local 802 of the American Federation of Musicians were outside the museum to protest the move.
