Tony Nominated Tom Aldredge Dies at 83

Tom Tom Aldredge, who was known for roles on the stage and screen, died today after a battle with lymphoma at a hospice in Tampa, FL, Playbill reported. He was 83.

Aldredge has taken various roles over the years, ranging from appearances on "The Sopranos" and "Boardwalk Empire" to narrating "Into the Woods." Originally from Dayton, OH, the five-time Tony nominee has appeared in over 28 Broadway productions including "Twelve Angry Men," "The Crucible," and "Tom Sawyer."

The long-time actor was predeceased by his wife of over 50 years, costume designer Theoni V. Aldredge. Until recently, he lived in Stamford, Conn. before moving to Tampa to live with his nephew Tom Huddleston and his wife, Sylvia, who were with him when he died.
