Academy To Limit Parties; NBC Faces Challenges

Bobgreenblatt • The Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences may soon be limiting the number of parties that Oscar contenders are allowed to have. According to The Hollywood Reporter, after a season of numerous and lavish parties that just skirt the already established rules, the Academy is poised to enact stronger restrictions at their next meeting.

• As a new season of television approaches, NBC faces a lot of challenges as it tries to dig itself out of the bottom. Programming chief, Bob Greenblatt, is bringing a new array of comedies and dramas this fall, including “Prime Suspect,” “The Playboy Club,” “Grimm” and “Smash.” Read the story at USA Today.
