Rolex Arts Weekend to Host Two New Premieres

LionLive from the New York Public Library, the Rolex Arts Weekend is fast approaching.

The event showcases a series of public performances, readings, and discussions by artists who have been inducted into the Rolex Arts Initiative.

Theatre artist, Maya Zbib, will host a performance you won't want to miss. Her latest, one-woman play, "The Music Box," will premiere on Sunday, Nov. 13. Introduced by acclaimed theatre and opera director, Peter Sellars [who mentored Zbib as part of the Rolex Mentor and Protégé Arts Initiative], "The Music Box," will engage the audience by using a common device: actual boxes to tell the story. The boxes will symbolize visualize themes of memory, secrets, and domestic space.

Visual artist, Anish Kapoor, and composer, Brian Eno, will also join Sellars on the 13 for a discussion that will focus on topics from mentoring, to artistic process and creation, performance and presentation.

Tickets for both of these one-time-only events are $25 each and can be purchased through www.rolexartsweekend.com. All proceeds will benefit the New York Public Library.
