"Mormon" and Much More

Sister act 2Broadway/LA has announced one of its most enticing lineups yet for the 2012/2013 season, to be presented at the company’s resident venue, the Pantages Theatre in Hollywood.

Four blockbuster touring editions of Broadway musicals head the roster. Joining the previously announced Tony-winning hit “The Book of Mormon” (September 5-November 25, 2012) are producer Bette Midler’s “Priscilla Queen of the Desert” (May 28-June 16, 2013), the Terrence McNally/Marc Shaiman/Scott Wittman hit “Catch Me if You Can,” based on the Steven Spielberg film (March 12-24. 2013), and “Sister Act the Musical” (July 9-28, 2013), a tuner that originally premiered in 2006 at the Pasadena Playhouse, prior to being retooled for its London and Broadway bows.

Other shows on tap for the season include “Donny & Marie—-Christmas in Los Angeles, a variety show starring the Osmond siblings (December 4-23, 2012), eternally youthful Cathy Rigby once again starring as “Peter Pan” (January 15-27, 2013), and Tony winner Constantine Maroulis (for “Rock of Ages”) in “Jekyll & Hyde” (February 12-March 3, 2013).

SoCal Stages_blogAdditional popular attractions joining the aforementioned offerings as season ticket options are Kander and Ebb’s evergreen smash “Chicago,” starring Christie Brinkley as murderous media darling Roxie Hart(May 15-27, 2012), “Rain—A Tribute to the Beatles” (January 28-February 3, 2003), Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast” (March 26-April 7, 2013), and the immortal Bernstein-Sondheim-Robbins musical drama “West Side Story” (April 9-14, 2013). This is an  impressive lineup, indeed, keeping Hollywood and Vine glittering with star power for a good while.

Season tickets are now on sale.
