• First lady Michelle Obama will be an honorary co-chairwoman of the opening night gala performance of Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, reported The New York Times. The ceremony will take place on Nov. 30.
• The BBC has cut its budget for foreign television imports, like "Mad Men," some of which performed very well across the pond. The broadcaster announced it slash its budget by about $ 1 billion a year by 2016/7 and as a result, roughly 2,000 people will lose their jobs.
