Actors and Dancers: Enhance Your Artistry
Steps on Broadway and Back Stage present this Sunday, April 26, the first of three programs for actors, dancers, and theatre professionals: Movement for Actors. It starts at 7 p.m. and will be held at Steps: 2121 Broadway, between West 74th and 75th streets.
Broadway veterans Veanne Cox (Caroline or Change, Tony nominee for Company), Michael Mastro (West Side Story, 12 Angry Men) and Jim Newman (Curtains, Steel Pier, The Who’s Tommy) will appear, as will director-playwright-choreographer Stewart Schulman. It will be moderated by Andrew Salomon, news editor for Back Stage.
Also on the panel is dancer and teacher Michael Blake, currently on the faculty at HB Studio and Rutgers University. Every Sunday at Steps on Broadway he leads a class for actors with little to no dance experience.
Other panels—Acting for Dancers and Getting the Job—will be held May 17 and June 18, respectively. For more information and reservations, call 212-874-2410, ext. 27.
