And ... Action! CalArts Showcase Starts Thursday

California Institute of the Arts will hold its year-end showcase of student work beginning tomorrow, April 30, and running through May 15. For further information about specific programs, please call the CalArts School of Film/Video at (661) 253-7825 or visit www.film.calarts.edu. The schedule follows.

April 30 - 8 p.m.
Film Directing Program and Program in Film and Video, Long Form Screening
Juried work that is over thirty minutes in length from two acclaimed programs in the School of Film/Video.
Location: REDCAT, 631 W. Second St., Los Angeles 90012

May 1- 8 p.m.
Film Directing Program
Juried work produced by graduate students in CalArts' acclaimed Film Directing Program.
Location: REDCAT, 631 W. Second St.

May 2- 7 p.m.
Program in Film and Video
Selected documentary, narrative and experimental film and video work from students in the highly ranked Program in Film and Video.
Location: REDCAT, 631 W. Second St., downtown

May 7
Character Animation Producer's Show
Faculty selected work produced in CalArt's formidable Character Animation program. Seating is limited, please call for reservations and location: (661) 253-7818.

May 8 - 8 p.m.
Experimental Animation
A showing of selected films produced by students in CalArts groundbreaking Experimental Animation program, including computer-generated 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional animation as well as stop-motion and other techniques.
Location: Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, Leonard H. Goldenson Theater, 5230 Lankershim Blvd., North Hollywood

May 11-15
Bijou Festival
A nearly round-the-clock, five- day festival showcasing work from the entire school and its programs. For specific times and programming information call the School of Film/Video at (661) 253-7825.
